Activity 7: Assessment/Polling & Data Gathering Part 1

I love that we have so many tools available to us as educators to help assess what our students know.  The best part is, they are actually fun, and the kids LIKE them!  I have had so many students ask to do a Peardeck, a Kahoot, or even a Quizlet.

Here is a Quizlet I created for my math class.  I love how I was able to engage my math students and help them become more familiar with math vocabulary.  The best part is you can even put pictures in to help those students who might have English as a second language.

Kahoots are great when you want to do a review of a topic with students, or even a preview to see where their understanding is currently at.  I've learned to be cautious about the amounts of time to give them to answer each question, as well as whether or not to use the points.  Here is a Kahoot I have created!

  1. It is good to have experience with a lot of tools so you can mix things up and use different tools for different purposes. I also like having students create their own assessments using some of the tools.
