Pear Deck!
I often used Pear Deck in my reading class this past year. It is a great interactive tool. My favorite part is I have the presentation on the SMARTboard in presentation mode, but then I also have the presentation open in Session Dashboard view on my Chromebook. I am then able to control the presentation from anywhere in the room. I can also view all of my students answers at one time, and know who has nut submitted an answer yet. Here is a Pear Deck I created on irony.
I think this is the first post I have read where someone has talked about controlling the presentation from anywhere in the room using a Chromebook, excellent idea. Do you go over the answers in class to spark discussion of have your students pick their favorite answers or one that they particularly agree with? I have always liked having my students create responses and after looking at other responses in class, have the students identify responses that they like, especially ones that are a lot different than theirs.
ReplyDeleteI got a good laugh from your picture on irony. Thanks. I like how you had the students explain "how these were examples of irony". Using PearDeck you can quickly see who has a good understanding of the topic.
ReplyDeleteExcellent presentation, Staci! I especially loved the billboard congradulating students on winning the spelling bee... ;-). I'm going to have to pick your brain this year for how to use peardeck for reading.
ReplyDeleteI love pear deck too! I haven't used it with a full set of students yet, but it's good hear that it works well with a classroom full of kiddos!
